Wonderful article. This is something I'm constantly checking/assessing in regards to myself, as I continue along my own therapeutic journey. It's so tempting (even when you know a tiny, tiny fraction of the jargon and what it means) to start throwing around labels, because as you well pointed out, they make us feel safe.

My question for you is, while I think it's wonderful that mental health and all these psychological topics are growing in popularity and enjoying increased awareness, does it seem to you we're quick to oversimplify? Like, there's been this boost of interest in the topic, and yet, even before we learned how to integrate mental health into our existence, all this pop/social media psychology (that often leads to self diagnosis and labeling) has popped up. It's like someone saying here, you don't need to figure out this complex new topic. I'll break it down for you in 3 words.

Do you think this trend's a dangerous one, one that's potentially inhibiting our understanding of mental health?
