What a thoughtful, wonderful comment. Thank you, Amy, it really made my day. I agree, it's so easy to become trapped in an echo chamber... on either side of every discussion, pretty much. I've come across women who believed the opposite, as it were, and considered motherhood a supreme and singular goal in life. Leaning too much towards either extreme can be dangerous.
As with so much, the only healthy approach is listening to both sides, and making sense of all arguments from your own perspective, and with your own knowledge.

I'm so glad you climbed your way out of that echo chamber. I know it's not easy to reassess and leave behind ideas and communities (because there is a certainelement of community in seeking out people who approve and applaud your actions, even if it's just people online). So, not easy. How could it be?
