Very well put. I imagine this also drives the opinions of the "middlegrounders" (which I believe are really the large majority), as they assume that entire "side" is made up of extremists. Huh. I think we assume that the other person is automatically balanced, and trying to provide equilibrium, rather than tilt the scales. I think I do, anyway. Anyway, always helps to remind yourself you may be talking to an extremist.
