In my experience, intellectual types are a lot pickier, though I don't think that's a bad thing. But yeah, since our society doesn't really encourage stuff like reading or educating yourself, it's no longer valued in the dating world, either. I had a similar experience to yours, I had something of an "intellectual" dating profile, and while that didn't stop guys from liking me, a lot of them told me it put them off, somewhat. That's an interesting, somewhat saddening turn, I think.
