I was so confused when they started speaking English, subtitled as "Portuguese". Guess the creators thought it'd be too complicated for broad, Western audiences to have to follow not one but two subtitled languages? I dunno, but it was a bit of a turn-off for me.

I loved the show, more or less, even as it was a bit drifty at times, so thank you for this glimpse into the history behind it. It's very much appreciated! :)
