Hi there!

>* this is not written with A.I.

To be fair, that's by far the scariest part of the comment ;) The only one, really, as you make some very good points. In itself, Joan is Awful, I felt, had some good points, though I felt it was far from Black Mirror's past brilliance (as I saw it, at least).

> Even after Joan realizes that her phone is recording her every move, she cannot let go of it.

That's a very good point. It's a strong commentary on society, though as I see it, aren't we a little past admitting we've got a phone addiction? It's like, I thought we'd established that in previous seasons, so maybe that's why I didn't find it as striking?

One thing I did like about the episode was the revelation Joan isn't really Joan, even if a tad predictable. I like that, shows that show actual people-looking people (as opposed to Salma-looking people, you know?) :)

> did A.I. give her character the identity to rebel against the program and decide to end every artificial life for the sake of the real one?

Another excellent point, and one that'll probably grow in importance in this bizarre new world we're heading towards. Thank you for drawing my attention to that! :D I hadn't given it the in-depth consideration it deserved.

> I hope this was not mean sounding. I

Not at all. Thank you for taking the time to give this thoughtful, well-argued response. I appreciate that! :D Obviously, everyone's free to an opinion (and if we didn't have different opinions on entertainment and such, it'd be a scary society indeed). Thanks again, and I hope you have a great day :)
